This architectural monument was built during the 18th century and the Baroque facade is a source of great pride for the Portuguese parish.In front of the Church of Santo Domingo, the visitor can find the Museum of Aveiro, located in the former convent where Saint Princess Joana once lived. This historic building, with a stately appearance, is comprised of several architectural styles and has been undergoing renovation for several centuries. It is one of Aveiro’s oldest convents. Inside this monument is the Church of Jesús, decorated in its entirety with Portuguese tiles and sumptuous gold ornaments. The Museum also has a park, baptised with the name of Santa Joana.
