The public institution was founded in 1911, although its origins date back to the 18th century. According to the latest data, the University of Porto is the largest Portuguese university, both in number of students, its departments and the number of courses it offers. Next to the University you can find a large park known as the Jardim da Cordoaria. Nearby there are several cafes and restaurants where you can stop to eat or have a snack before continuing on with your visit. Located not far from this point of interest is a Saba car park, where you can comfortably leave your car. This parking lot is available 24 hours a day and has modern facilities with Wi-Fi included.
